The INTERLEAGUE CHALLENGE is a LIVE LPPL team event where regional teams of 12 players each come together for a weekend of poker, booze, social shenanigans and… well, more poker and more booze and more social shenanigans!
Every year each team will have a Team Captain chosen by LPPL who will look to lead their team to glory – the team that are crowned Champions then have the honour of defending their title the following year, with the event hosted in their Region, with the actual venue (usually an LPPL host pub / club, but it could be a casino etc) and date co-ordinated by LPPL – it is usually held in early Sept.
For some events we have also involved 1 or 2 ‘invitational teams’ – for example, previously we’ve had teams from APAT and BCPC. Where a non-Regional league team wins, then as Defending Champions that winning team is invited back to defend their crown, but with the next location chosen by LPPL. This year we have an 'Online Team' whom members may compete, but ONLY if they are eligible via Online play, and are not eligible nor invited for the live regional team first. We will also have an Invitational team, thus giving us the usual 12 competing teams, including the Defending Champions.
The INTERLEAGUE CHALLENGE 2021 was won by Lincolnshire, and therefore that team has been invited back to defend their title, and we will host the event over the weekend of Friday 9th Sep 2022 at the Lincoln Moorlands Railway Sports and Social Club, Newark Road, Lincoln, LN6 8RT
Each Team Captain has a place in their team, with 7 further places won via LPPL games / leaderboards etc, leaving the remaining 4 to be decided on by the Team Captain choosing 3 wildcards and with LPPL choosing 1 wildcard (all wildcards must be members of LPPL who have played in LPPL and all must be approved by LPPL).
The weekend will run as follows:
Fri 9th Sept
7pm - Registration for Social/Charity MTT opens (£25 per PAIRS team - £5 into the LPPL charity pot)
(only needs 1 of the 2 players to register the team)
8pm SUAD
Sat 10th
11:30am - teams assemble at venue
12:00 noon - teams introduction / music
(commence play on completion)

As usual, all teams must wear ‘team shirts’ and again this year the shirts will be ‘printed’ t-shirts and it will be the ‘design’ that differentiates each team from another - and the design of the shirt is chosen by Team Captains and all team members must purchase the shirt at £25 per player paid via Teams Captains in advance. Printed hoodies are also available to brand / purchase.
The Top 3 winning teams will split a ‘cash prize’ from the event as donated by LPPL as £720/£420/£300.
'National Championship Weekend' prize package vouchers may be used for this event, which will include Fri & Sat 2 nights shared accommodation, initial buy-in to the Fri evening poker game and payment of their team membership (incl Team Shirt) - limited numbers and will be on a 'first bought in the LPPL online shop' basis.
'National/UK Poker Entry/Seat' packages may be used for the initial buy-in to the Fri evening poker game and payment of their team membership (incl Team Shirt).
